Zeitgeist & No Exit Ensemble
Zeitgeist and No Exit New Music Ensemble's HERE AND THERE event is a perennial favorite for audiences in Minnesota and Ohio. This season's production features the world premiere of a new concert-length work, An Evocation of Our Current Time, featuring film and music in response to our current social climate.
No Exit and their frequent collaborators, the St. Paul, MN-based new music ensemble Zeitgeist, present an unforgettable experience in the form of a 50 minute immersive multimedia extravaganza, An Evocation of Our Current Time. No Exit and guests will create a very different kind of sound bath via improvisation, film, artificial intelligence, environmental manipulation, lies, magic, gaslighting and other forms of chicanery…… all to serve as an outpouring of our present reality. In addition to the core members of No Exit and Zeitgeist, An Evocation of Our Current Time will also feature the talents of drummer Dave Hagedorn, saxophonist Nathan Hanson, trombonist JC Sanford and bassist Nick Gaudette. Please be aware that this work is not gentle. It is not appropriate for children and the political, social, and cultural imagery used may not be helpful if one is tender due to vulnerability in today's climate. If you "can't even", please don't. Here and There is an ongoing touring exchange partnership with No Exit New Music Ensemble through which the two ensembles present joint concerts in both Ohio and Minnesota. Now in its 10th year, the partnership has presented more than 60 concerts and presented dozens of works by Minnesota and Ohio composers.
