Zeitgeist/Studio Z Open Call for Northern Spark Festival
June 8th, 11 p.m.- 1 a.m. Deadline March 22, 2013

As part of Northern Spark 2013, Zeitgeist is presenting "Studio Z in Flux," a performance event featuring the ensemble plus a host of guest performers realizing classic and newly created pieces from the Fluxus tradition. The members of the ensemble will be performing, and we'd love to have artists from our musical community join us.  We plan to include pieces by Yoko Ono, Dick Higgins, George Maciunas, Alison Knowles, and Nam June Paik, plus we hope that each of our participating musicians will contribute a piece for the group as well.

The time commitment includes being available for the performance from 11:00 p.m. -1:00 a.m. on June 8th plus one meeting TBD. Financial compensation is not possible, but we can offer $50 off a future Studio Z rental or a Studio Z 2013-2014 season pass to those who join in the fray with us.
If you are interested, please contact Heather Barringer at heather@zeitgeistnewmusic.org for further information. In addition, if you wish to propose your own Northern Spark event for Studio Z from 1 to 6 a.m., we'd be happy to consider a proposal. Deadline for proposals is March 22, 2013.

Fluxus is an international artistic movement that began in the early 60s and continues to this day. The movement challenges preconceptions about the nature of art and encourages people to live artfully throughout every day, viewing every activity through an artistic lens, instead of saving the experience for museums and concert halls. Fluxus events are undertaken in the spirit of fun and discovery, with many works inviting all present to participate in the action. An open mind is a pre-requisite. Virtuosity is not. Expect balloons.
