Zeitgeist presents a performance/discussion with special guests Seen/Heard Trio (Megan Ihnen, Mezzo-Soprano; Erika Boysen, Flute; Jennifer R. Ellis, Harp). The trio will discuss the creation of the new works Spitting Image Collective composers Katherine Bergman, Joshua Clausen, and Daniel Nass and the group’s process for long-distance collaboration.

This event is a preview to Seen/Heard Trio's concert performance on May 1 at Studio Z.

Seen/Heard Trio is an American contemporary music trio devoted to performance that delights the senses. Combining the skill and musicianship of classical training with the fearlessness of new music adventurers, Seen/Heard Trio is helping audiences find the joy and wonder in chamber music. Seen/Heard was forged out of a common dedication to fiercely compelling performances and persuasive story-telling through classical music. Actively engaged in community-building, the trio develops performances and educational opportunities to draw new and veteran audiences of all ages.

Lowertown Listening Sessions invite curious listeners to enjoy adventurous sounds and insightful conversation with the music-makers of our time. Held at Studio Z, Zeitgeist’s performance space in Lowertown St. Paul, this monthly happy hour series brings guest artists from all genres of new music (jazz, classical, world music, folk, and more) for performances and informal discussion in an after-work setting with food and beverages from Lowertown eateries.
This installment of Lowertown Listening Sessions is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
