Asian aesthetic sensibility has been a key ingredient in the cultural stew that has formed the identity of American experimental music from its nascent blossoming in the early 20th century. For this year's Early Music Festival, Zeitgeist will partner with the 10th Wave Chamber Music collective to explore this fundamental contribution. Our three-day festival of musical performances will celebrate Asian and Asian American composers who have infused our experimental tradition with Eastern sonic possibilities, musical forms, and artistic values, creating a world of possibility that continues to shape our music today.
