No Exit presents a stirring and evocative online concert à la miniature consisting of short works, about 5 minutes or less in duration, showcasing music by some of the most pioneering composers of the last 100 years.

Violinist Cara Tweed and cellist Nick Diodore will be performing Iannis Xenakis’ exquisitely savage Dhipli Zyia along with Kaija Sarriaho’s understated yet powerful Aure. Pianist Nicholas Underhill will give voice to György Ligeti’s otherworldly Arc-en-ciel as well as to Leo Ornstein’s violently rumbling 1918 masterpiece Suicide in an Airplane. Betsy Jolas’ sublimely expressive Episode Second: Ohne Worte and Charles Delaney’s bewitching …and the strange unknown flowers… will be performed by flutist Sean Gabriel.

Since it’s inception, No Exit’s mission has been to serve as an outlet for the commission and performance of contemporary avant-garde concert music. Now in their ninth season and with over fifty commissions to date, No Exit continues to promote the music of living composers and to be an impetus for the creation of new works. They create exciting, meaningful and thought-provoking programs with the philosophy of bringing the concert hall to the community, and by presenting programs in a manner which allows for audiences to connect with the experience.
